UNICOR intends to enter into a firm fixed price, IDIQ type contract for Architect and Engineer firm to evaluate the dust collection system used in the manufacture of office furniture in two locations, Ashland, KY and Coleman, FL. The solicitation number is FN1609-26 and this solicitation is issued as a Request For Proposal. NAICS CODE IS 541330. Offerors are advised that the Government intends to evaluate offers on a multiple award basis. Offerors shall submit signed and dated offers to UNICOR, Federal Correctional Complex, PO BOX 1109, COLEMAN, FL 33521 ATTN: Peyton Perry (peyton.perry@usdoj.gov). All Proposals should be emailed to peyton.perry@usdoj.gov. The subject of the email should reference FN1609-26. All offerors must complete the Business Management questionnaire in Section L of solicitation document with three references. References must be for same or similar items, and for the same scope of solicitation. All Offerors must register on www.sam.gov. All offerors must acknowledgment all amendments if any and complete all documents attached to this solicitation. Offers received after the exact time and date specified will not be considered. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror or offeror's whose offer represents the best value to the government. The following factors shall be used to evaluate proposals: Listed in order of importance: Technicaly (ability to meet specifications and other requirements listed in the solicitation), Past Performance, and Price. A written notice of award or acceptance of an offer will be mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful offeror within the time for acceptance specified in the offer, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. Background Federal Prison Industries (FPI), operating under the trade name UNICOR, is a wholly-owned Government Corporation within the Department of Justice. Established by Congress in 1934, UNICOR provides employment, education, and training opportunities to inmates under Federal custody. The agency operates approximately 62 factories across over 52 locations, producing a wide range of products and services for other Federal Agencies and the Department of Defense. This solicitation aims to secure an Architect and Engineer firm to evaluate the dust collection systems used in the manufacture of office furniture at two specific locations: Ashland, KY and Coleman, FL. Work Details The contractor will provide engineering services to evaluate existing dust collection systems at FCC Coleman and FCI Ashland wood furniture factories. The tasks include: - Evaluating current dust collection systems and making recommendations for new specifications to establish a Statement of Work (SOW) for purchasing and installing a new system based on expert evaluations. - Assessing duct layout, system balancing, and fire prevention measures according to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. - Delivering a detailed report of findings with recommendations. - Drafting a SOW that addresses the needs for a new replacement system tailored to each factory's requirements. - Providing technical evaluation and expertise for proposals received after solicitation for replacement systems. - Performance must begin within 30 calendar days post-award and be completed within 120 calendar days.
