Background The 436 Contracting Squadron at Dover Air Force Base, DE is seeking small business vendors to provide annual preventative maintenance and inspection services for HURST Jaws of Life extrication tools. This initiative is critical to ensure the safety of responders and emergency victims during the use of these tools, adhering to the manufacturer's recommendations. Work Details The contractor will perform annual inspection and preventative maintenance services on HURST Jaws of Life tools and equipment according to the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Services include: 1. Preventive maintenance and inspection must be performed by Hurst certified technicians on all assigned equipment in accordance with Hurst Jaws of Life guidelines. 2. The contractor shall perform PMI service as per manufacturer’s recommendations, which includes: - Checking pressures and sequence of all power units - Changing hydraulic fluids - Changing motor oil (on gas units) - Replacing spark plugs (on gas units), pump gaskets, and pump screens - Replacing fuel filters, fuel lines, engine seals, and cage feet as needed - Checking hydraulic lines for wear and replacing o-rings as necessary - Tightening all rescue tool fittings and tips - Replacing decals on all Jaws of Life equipment as needed - Timing all spreaders, cutters, and rams from open to close - Disassembling, greasing, and torquing cutter blades or combination tool blades. 3.
