Description of Requirement

The Air Mobility Command (AMC) Museum at Dover Air Force Base (AFB), Delaware requires services for collections support functions, artifact registration, artifact restoration support, and basic conservation services (including artifact cleaning, handling, repair, and preservation) of the AMC Museum's permanent, historic reference. Additionally, the contractor shall be responsible for all operational and exhibit signage, and marketing ads with graphics. Background The Air Mobility Command (AMC) Museum at Dover Air Force Base (AFB), Delaware, requires specialized services for collections support functions, artifact registration, restoration support, and basic conservation services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the preservation and management of the museum's permanent historic reference artifacts while also providing exhibit design and construction services. The contractor will be responsible for operational signage and marketing materials as well. Work Details The contractor shall provide collections support functions including artifact registration, basic conservation services such as cleaning, handling, repair, and preservation of artifacts. Specific tasks include: 1. Performing artifact registration services using best practices of relevant museum associations. 2. Maintaining temporary deposit registers for new acquisitions and permanent accession registers for accessioned artifacts. 3. Evaluating and accessioning between 150 to 250 items per year. 4. Creating and maintaining permanent artifact accession folders with required documentation. 5. Conducting quarterly updates on the collection and maintaining electronic databases for artifact tracking. 6. Evaluating artifacts quarterly for preservation needs and recommending actions as necessary. 7. Creating exhibit graphics and signage using existing software and equipment provided by the museum. 8.
