Background The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing a contract for the replacement of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system at the Salem VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of the water purification systems critical to the operations of the medical facility. The project aims to enhance water quality and system reliability, thereby supporting the overall mission of providing high-quality healthcare services to veterans. Work Details The contractor shall perform the following tasks: 1. Replace 3 membrane housings on RO system 1, including all six end caps. 2. Replace 6 membranes on RO systems 1 and 2. 3. Repair leak on RO system 2. 4. Replace the system recirculation pump and supply a replacement for back stock. 5. Re-pipe CPVC from recirculation pump to UV filters using 1-1/2” piping. 6. Re-pipe current supply and return lines from 3” CPVC to 1-1/2” CPVC. 7. Re-bed carbon tank on RO system 2. 8. Re-pipe RO systems 1 and 2 for deionization (DI) tanks to scrub RO water before storage. Work must minimize disruption to VA Medical Center activities, operations, and movement. Compliance with all applicable national, state, and local codes adopted by the VA is required. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is estimated to be within 120 days from the date of award. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Salem VA Medical Center Campus, located at 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153.
