Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Electronic Systems Directorate (ES), Aerospace Management Systems Division (ESA), Contracting Office (ESAK) is seeking approval for a Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition. The purpose of this action is to ensure the continued sustainment and modernization of the existing 157 Digital Airport Surveillance Radars (DASRs) on a sole source basis to Raytheon Company. This extension is necessary due to delays in awarding a new DASR Sustainment ID/IQ Contract, which is anticipated to be awarded by August 27, 2026. Work Details The contract involves a twelve-month extension to the current DASR Sustainment contract and an increase in the maximum ordering amount. The increase is required to fund the procurement of Mk3 Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) interrogators as replacements for obsolete Mk2 MSSR interrogators. The contract types include Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Cost Reimbursement, Firm Fixed Price, and Time and Materials. The DASR systems provide critical surveillance coverage and situational awareness for air traffic controllers, ensuring safety in the National Airspace System. The extension will utilize Procurement and Operation and Maintenance funding with an estimated maximum amount increase. Period of Performance The ordering period extension is for twelve months. Place of Performance The products will be delivered to locations where the existing 157 Digital Airport Surveillance Radars are operational.
