Background The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) is issuing this contract for elevator safety inspections for all traction and hydraulic elevators located at their facilities in Little Rock and North Little Rock, AR. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and compliance of the elevators with the latest standards set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators. Work Details The contractor shall provide comprehensive elevator safety inspection services, which include: conducting semi-annual inspections, annual safety tests, and five-year load tests on electric elevators, as well as three-year pressure tests on hydraulic elevators and dumbwaiters. The contractor must supply all necessary tools, including door pressure gauges, stopwatches, calipers, flashlights, and other small hand tools. Inspections must adhere to ASME A17.1 standards and include thorough checks of all components to ensure safe operation. The contractor is responsible for providing qualified personnel certified by the Elevator Safety Division at the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing.
