Background The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking to establish contract pricing for pollinator habitat spot spraying on rights of way and land surrounding ODOT-maintained physical facilities. This initiative aims to enhance pollinator habitats in accordance with ODOT's specifications and standard terms and conditions. Work Details The contractor will provide spot spraying maintenance services, which include controlling noxious and invasive weeds, annual and cool-season grasses, and woody vegetation. The services will be performed at designated locations including rest areas, weigh stations, ODOT garages, office buildings, and remnant properties. Specific tasks include: - Herbicide applications using Glyphosate provided by ODOT. - Attention to specific weeds such as Canada thistle, cutleaf teasel, and poison hemlock. - Compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations. - Maintenance of a chemical inventory listing all products used along with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). - Removal of all rubbish and packaging materials after work completion. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon execution and will remain effective until June 30, 2026. Place of Performance Services will be performed at various locations across Ohio as specified in the excel pricing page provided by ODOT. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide proof of insurance with limits of at least $300,000 for any one person and $1,000,000 for any one occurrence. Additionally, bidders must be registered through the Ohio Shared Services Office to obtain an OAKS Vendor Identification Number prior to contract award. The awarded vendor must perform at least 100% of the contract work with its own organization unless otherwise approved by ODOT.
