Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for waste collection services at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Indiahoma, Oklahoma. The goal of this contract is to ensure clean recreation areas for the visiting public by providing regular waste collection and disposal services. This contract will be awarded to a responsible vendor with the necessary technical capability, equipment, and experience. Work Details The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for solid waste collection services at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Key tasks include: 1) Providing metal containers (6 cubic yard front load containers, with some 4 cubic yard containers as specified) equipped with automatic locking/release poly-lids. 2) Collecting and removing all materials from these containers from refuge lands. 3) Ensuring that container lids are closed after emptying. 4) Emptying containers weekly on Tuesdays between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. 5) Picking up any waste material around the containers that spills out during emptying. 6) Repairing damaged containers within one week of notification by the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). 7) Steam cleaning and painting containers annually between December 1st and March 28th, ensuring that any removed container is replaced with a like substitute to maintain service levels. 8) Adhering to specific paint color standards set by the Refuge. Period of Performance The contract period of performance is from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031, including a base year and four option years. Place of Performance The services will be performed at various locations within the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Indiahoma, Oklahoma.
