Background The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is seeking a contractor to perform parking lot repair and sealcoating at the EIDMRU Lab in Marshfield, WI. The goal of this contract is to address the deteriorating conditions of the parking lot, which requires both replacement of damaged asphalt and maintenance of existing areas. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business concerns, emphasizing the agency's commitment to supporting small businesses. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: - Replacement of 825 square yards of asphalt parking lot; - Crack filling and sealcoating of remaining areas in good condition; - Parking space striping for the entire parking lot. Specific tasks include: 1) Saw cutting of asphalt replacement area; 2) Removal and disposal of existing asphalt and 18 inches of subgrade material; 3) Installation of 10 inches of breaker run and 8 inches of compacted base course; 4) Fine grading, watering, and compaction of base course material; 5) Paving with WisDOT spec type MT58-28S asphalt mix compacted to 3.5 inches in two lifts with a tack coat applied prior to installation; 6) Routing and filling cracks in asphalt; 7) Cleaning out and filling seams between asphalt and concrete; 8) Applying two coats of bio-based sealcoat to all areas except those being replaced; 9) Paint striping the parking areas similar to pre-existing configurations, including two handicapped spaces, using bio-based striping paint.
