Background The City of Burlington Department of Public Works is seeking bids for the CY-26 Sidewalk Program. This program includes sidewalk and curb replacement as well as pedestrian crossing improvements funded by the VTrans Grant Burlington ST BP26(1) CA0908. The goal of this contract is to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility throughout the city. Work Details The scope of work includes: removing and replacing sidewalks and sidewalk ramps; adjusting or replacing curbs; and performing catch basin work. The project will be executed in the right-of-way throughout the City of Burlington, Vermont. Period of Performance Work shall not begin prior to April 15, 2026, and must be completed on or before November 1, 2026. Any work continued after this date will incur liquidated damages as specified in the General Provisions of the 2023 City of Burlington Engineering Specifications. Place of Performance Right-of-way throughout the City of Burlington, Vermont. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be prequalified by both the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and the City of Burlington. Each bid must include a certified check for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount or a bid bond. Bids must also include signed certificates of compliance with various ordinances including the Burlington Pre-Qualification of Construction Contractors, Livable Wage Ordinance, Union Deterrence Ordinance, and Outsourcing Ordinance. A subcontractor's list must be submitted with all bids.
