Background

The Forest Service is issuing this presolicitation notice for informational purposes, allowing vendors to assess the project site before inclement weather or seasonal closures. The agency anticipates a full solicitation will be issued when the project site is unavailable due to these conditions. The goal of the contract is to replace an existing trail bridge and its substructure on Trail 101, located in the Ninemile Ranger District of Lolo National Forest, within the Great Burn Proposed Wilderness. Work Details: The contractor is responsible for removing and disposing of the existing trail bridge and substructure elements. The work includes structural excavation and installation of foundation components, furnishing, loading, hauling, and erecting the new bridge. Additionally, adjustments to adjacent trail grades must be made to match design plans. All incidental items necessary to complete the work according to the contract are also included. Due to the project's location within a proposed wilderness area, a list of Resource Protection Measures and Restricted Equipment is required. Place of Performance: The project is located on Trail 101 at milepost 3.1 in Mineral County, Montana. Access can be gained by traveling 37 miles west of Missoula on Interstate 90, taking Fish Creek Exit #66, and following Fish Creek Road #343 south to West Fork Fish Creek Road #7750.
