Background The St. Cloud VA Health Care System is issuing this solicitation for the replacement and addition of steam mains as part of project number 656-21-114. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the replacement of steam mains at the St. Cloud Veterans Affairs Health Care System. The scope includes: 1. Complete removal and replacement of existing steam line vaults at various locations as indicated in the contract documents. 2. Installation of a new steam piping infrastructure extending from Building 48 Vault through the steam tunnel and subbasements to Building 51. 3. Compliance with industry requirements, recommended standards, and federal specifications throughout the project. 4. Coordination with utility services to manage shutdowns of major utilities (water, power, communications, electrical, and steam). 5. Management of work in occupied buildings necessitating a comprehensive construction schedule and coordination plan. 6. Anticipated trades include general contracting, abatement contracting, electrical contracting, mechanical contracting, earthwork, and concrete work. Period of Performance The anticipated period of performance for this contract is approximately 640 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP), with construction expected to start 90 days after award.
