The Music Director shall perform at music team's rehearsals as directed by the schedule of services. Background The contract is issued by the Department of the Air Force for the position of Protestant Contemporary Music Director at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. The goal of this contract is to provide leadership in music for contemporary worship services, supporting service members' rights to religious expression as protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Work Details The Music Director shall lead music according to traditions of Contemporary worship, which includes selecting worship songs for congregational singing, offertories, contemporary-style religious music, and special selections. Responsibilities include performing at music team rehearsals as directed by the schedule of services and providing opportunities for service members to freely practice their religion. The Music Director must demonstrate knowledge of the Christian Faith (Protestant) and be familiar with musical traditions/customs of the Protestant Contemporary community. They should have training and experience in worship planning, musical instrument abilities, and be able to direct, produce, and arrange music as needed. Proficiency in vocal performance and ability to play a minimum of one musical instrument is required. The Music Director will also recruit talented volunteer musicians and vocalists, build cohesive music teams/choirs, and effectively lead congregational worship. Technical proficiency in operating sound systems and worship music projection systems is necessary. Place of Performance Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri.
