Background The Western North Carolina VA Healthcare System (WNCVAHCS) is seeking to establish a professional service contract for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Assessment and Associated Sampling Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the health and safety of the indoor environments at the Asheville VAMC and its associated clinics by conducting thorough IAQ assessments and monitoring. This initiative aligns with the Department of Veterans Affairs' mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. Work Details The contractor will provide all necessary resources, labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and expertise to perform Industrial Hygiene services for IAQ assessments. Key tasks include: - Conducting IAQ sampling/air monitoring in compliance with standards set by AIHA, ISO, ASTM, OSHA, NIOSH, and ACGIH. - Monitoring indoor air quality for parameters such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, fungi, bacteria, dust, temperature, and relative humidity across 6 locations. - Providing microbiology, toxicology, and chemistry laboratory services accredited by AIHA prior to contract award. - Delivering written reports summarizing findings within ten days after sample collection or within 48 hours for rush reports. - Conducting additional services as requested including Sick Building Syndrome investigations and compliance sampling for environmental safety regulations. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period from March 13, 2026 to March 12, 2031, with an initial term of one year and options for four additional one-year renewals. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at multiple locations including the main campus at Charles George Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Asheville, NC and various Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Franklin and Hickory, NC.
