Summary (Newest Update)

Background The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) is issuing a solicitation for repairs to Building 100, which includes various mechanical and electrical systems. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the building's HVAC and plumbing systems are functioning efficiently and meet the required standards. This project aims to remodel the existing facilities while addressing any interferences between trades and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Work Details The scope of work includes: 1. Examination of Project Drawings: The contractor must review plans, elevations, and flow schematics to determine the exact locations and mounting heights of equipment, as well as the routing and positioning of piping and ductwork. 2. Mechanical Work: The contractor is responsible for field verification of mechanical piping and duct routing, accommodating existing structures, and providing necessary HVAC duct offsets. All costs associated with interferences must be included in the base bid. 3. Products: The contractor must use specific joining materials such as lead-free solder filler metals, brazing filler metals for general-duty brazing, welding filler metals compliant with AWS D10.12, and solvent cements for joining plastic piping. 4. Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB): This includes balancing air systems (constant-volume air systems), verifying control systems, and submitting qualification data within 30 days from notice to proceed. The TAB firm must be certified by NEBB and independent from all contractors involved in the project. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at the National Interagency Fire Center located in Boise, Idaho.
