Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 19, is seeking to procure professional abatement services for the removal of bat guano and pigeon feces from buildings located on the Sheridan VA Healthcare System Campus. This contract aims to ensure a safe and sanitary environment by addressing health risks associated with these materials, particularly in hospital attic spaces. The project is set aside for Total Small Businesses. Work Details The contractor will perform the following tasks: 1. **Removal of Bat Guano and Pigeon Feces**: Assess attic spaces for guano and feces, erect negative air machines, dampen droppings before removal, sweep and sanitize all areas including air ducts, and double-bag all collected materials for disposal. 2. **Exclusion**: Report any visible entry points to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). 3. **Reporting**: Notify the COR of any live or dead bats found; however, removal is not part of the contract. 4. **Cleanup Precautions**: Follow safety protocols to avoid exposure to Histoplasma capsulatum spores during cleanup by using appropriate respiratory protection and dampening materials before removal. 5. **Buildings Involved**: Clean-up will occur in specified buildings with various attic sizes ranging from 2,525 sq ft to 18,060 sq ft.
