Background The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is seeking to procure Sinclair miniature swine for medical research purposes. The goal of this requirement is to provide necessary animals that will aid in delivering innovative medical solutions aimed at enhancing warfighter health, readiness, and survival. DHA has multiple laboratories that have previously utilized Sinclair products for research and require the same strains/models to continue their work. Work Details The contract involves the procurement, shipment, and delivery of all strains/models of Sinclair miniature swine, including but not limited to: Sinclair Nanopig®, Yucatan™ miniature swine, Micro-Yucatan™ miniature swine, and Hanford miniature swine. The vendor must provide these animals at specified ages, intact genders, weight requirements, or various skin pigmentation including brown. Key requirements include: - AAALAC International accreditation prior to award. - Health documents for each shipment as per ICLAS recommendations. - Compliance with USDA registration and transportation standards. - Minipigs must be shipped in climate-controlled vehicles by qualified personnel. - Animals must be from a validated brucellosis-free herd and free from disease. - Vaccination against standard agents such as A. pleuropneumoniae and B. bronchiseptica is required.
