The contractor shall construct a new well at the Negrito Fire Base to replace the existing well system, which was deemed irreparable due to a crushed drop pipe and fallen pitless adaptor. Work shall include but is not limited to: drilling, casing installation, surface prep, and complete assembly of a functional water system according to NMED Standards. All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The well should be as close as to the existing well as possible/feasible and should be connected into the existing distribution system. Contractor is responsible for all labor, tools, equipment, permitting, and materials. This solicitation replaces a prior solicitation that was canceled following award due to awardee withdrawlal.
Background The contract is issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the construction of a new well at the Negrito Fire Base. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of the project, including labor, tools, equipment, permitting, and materials. Work Details The contractor shall perform the following tasks: 1. Mobilization/Demobilization: Equipment staging and transport to the remote site, pre-work safety planning, and final site cleanup and restoration. 2. Labor: Drilling of a new well to a required depth of 1000 feet as close to the existing well as feasible; installation of surface and interior casing; installation of pitless adaptor, pump, plumbing, electrical connections, surface pad, fill material; ensuring connection to the existing distribution system. 3. Testing, Permitting, and Commissioning: Conducting pump testing and flow rate verification; coordinating with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR); performing water quality sampling if required; applying for necessary permits in compliance with state and federal regulations. 4. Parts: Supply necessary parts including but not limited to surface casing, Certa Lock casing, pitless adapter, valves, piping, concrete for surface pad, etc., ensuring all components meet performance specifications. Period of Performance The contract will be performed from March 2, 2026 to April 2, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be conducted at the Negrito Fire Base located within the Gila National Forest in New Mexico.
