This is a Sources Sought Notice for the purpose of conducting market research and obtaining industry information ONLY. This is NOT a request for quotation. The National Park Service is seeking sources to obtain information from businesses which would be interested and capable of providing services to Yosemite National Park, California. The work will consist of providing a landfill which has been issued a solid waste facility permit by the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) with the concurrence of CalRecycle, California, to accept large amounts of municipal waste. The landfill must be no further than 40 miles from El Portal, California. The work will NOT include the transportation of waste from Yosemite National Park to the landfill. Interested and capable contractors should complete the attached sources sought survey and return it in accordance with the instructions.
Background The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting market research to identify businesses capable of providing landfill services for Yosemite National Park, California. The NPS aims to gather information from small businesses, including those owned by Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises, certified 8(a), HUBZone, Woman-owned, and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The goal is to develop an acquisition strategy based on the responses received. The anticipated contract period is projected to begin with an award by July 15, 2026, with options for yearly extensions up to four years. Work Details The contractor will provide landfill services that include accepting large amounts of municipal waste, solid waste, organic waste, and recycling materials. The landfill must have a solid waste facility permit from the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) and CalRecycle, California, and be located no more than 40 miles from El Portal, California. Services will include: - Accepting various types of waste including municipal waste, household waste, demolition materials, organic waste (such as horse manure and campground ash), appliances, mattresses, and tires. - Operating seven days a week throughout the year, including holidays. - Utilizing a State certified scale for weighing waste by the ton; weigh tickets must be signed and provided to the driver each time waste is received. - Managing disposal frequency which may vary between 15 to 60 trips per month depending on need.
