Background The New Mexico State University (NMSU) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the construction of the New Mexico Reforestation Center. The project aims to enhance the university's capabilities in forestry research and education, aligning with its mission to support sustainable practices in land management and environmental stewardship. Work Details The contract includes comprehensive construction services as outlined in the RFP. Key components include: 1. Base Bid: All work as indicated in the construction documents, including capped plumbing and conduit for future volume construction. 2. Bid Lot 1: Cold Storage - insulated slab, self-supporting walls, ceilings panels, doors, bollards, equipment, and lighting. 3. Bid Lot 2: Greenhouse 2 - structure, flooring, walls, roof, equipment, and lighting as per drawings; grading and site preparation included in base bid. 4. Additional lighting above baseline photoperiod lighting in Greenhouse 1; EBB and flood system within Greenhouse 1 included. 5. Deductive Alternates: Options to remove specific elements such as site lighting, asphalt paving, insect screening in greenhouse roof vents, grow racks, furniture in headhouse, evaporative cooling systems, grow lighting in Greenhouse 2, and irrigation systems. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period of 540 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The project will take place at the John T. Harrington Forestry Research Center located at State Hwy 518, Mora, NM 87732. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide proof of an active Sam.gov registration and submit a hard copy of a 5% Bid Bond with their proposal. Additionally, bidders must comply with the Subcontractors Fair Practice Act for any subcontractors exceeding $110,000 in work value. Bidders should also be registered with the New Mexico Department of Labor if their proposal exceeds $60,000.
