Background The Bureau of Reclamation, part of the Great Plains Region, is seeking to award a contract for refuse removal and disposal services at various locations including the Canyon Ferry Office, Ware yard, Powerplant, and Recreation Areas in Lewis and Clark and Broadwater Counties, Montana. The goal of this contract is to ensure professional, timely, responsive, and environmentally responsible trash collection and disposal services at the Canyon Ferry Recreation Area, which is situated approximately 20 miles east of Helena, Montana. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for trash and refuse collection, removal, transportation, and disposal at appropriate landfills. Specific tasks include: 1) Providing trash collection containers at designated sites with specified sizes and quantities; 2) Removing trash from these containers on an 'as required' basis; 3) Ensuring response time for trash removal is within 2 days of notice; 4) Cleaning up around refuse containers; 5) Disposing of collected trash at approved sanitary landfill sites; 6) Maintaining collection containers in good condition; 7) Delivering and removing containers according to the seasonal schedule; 8) Providing all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and supplies; 9) Obtaining necessary licenses and permits. The contractor must also comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Period of Performance The contract period will run from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 with four optional one-year extensions available at the discretion of the Bureau of Reclamation. Additionally, garbage collection at recreation sites will occur from May 1 to September 30 annually. Place of Performance The services will be performed at various locations within Lewis and Clark and Broadwater Counties in Montana.
