Background

BNL is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory multidisciplinary research facility, located on Long Island, New York. BNL intends to compete the subject requirement, to be utilized within the United States. This requirement will provide for full and open competition. Note: This acquisition is subject to FAR Part 25, Buy American Act. Requirement: Detailed description of requirement need can be found in the attached DRAFT Statement of Work, DRAFT Technical Specifications, and DRAFT Technical Drawings. BNL expects to make one (1) award. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332312, Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing (Size Standard, 500 employees). To be considered a small business under this acquisition, offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) under the applicable NAICS code prior to submission of quotes. BNL intends to issue solicitation RFP-472077 in support of this requirement. The anticipated contract type is Firm Fixed Price. The anticipated award timeframe is on or about June 2026.

Background Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory located on Long Island, New York, is issuing this pre-solicitation notice for the procurement of charge readout plane support superstructures (CRP-SSTs) for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). This requirement aims to facilitate full and open competition within the United States. Work Details The contract involves the design, manufacture, inspection, testing, and delivery of sixteen (16) charge readout plane support superstructures (CRP-SSTs) for the DUNE Vertical Drift detector. The Contractor must provide: 1. An engineering package for the large SST including a 3D model, fabrication drawings, and structural engineering calculations. 2. An engineering package for the small SST after the first article large SST frame has been shipped. 3. Compliance with technical specifications BSA_VD_CRP-SST_SPC-001 and associated drawings. 4. Factory acceptance testing for both large and small SST frames. 5. Documentation packages for each shipment including inspection reports, material certifications, and compliance with US/EU standards. Place of Performance The products will be delivered to CERN in Switzerland for the first article large SST frame and to the Far Detector & Cryogenics South Dakota Warehouse Facility (SDWF) for all other frames.
