Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the survey and assessment of the B14 Stone Basement Foundation Wall at Glenmont Mansion, located within the Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange, NJ. This project aims to preserve the historical significance and aesthetic character of the structure while addressing immediate preservation needs. Glenmont Mansion, built in 1880, is a property of national significance listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Work Details The contractor will conduct a thorough survey and assessment of the B14 north foundation wall at Glenmont Mansion. The objectives include: 1) Producing an existing conditions assessment that outlines specific steps for repair and maintenance of the exterior foundation wall; 2) Making recommendations to stabilize the wall and prevent further deterioration and water intrusion; 3) Ensuring that as much of the original historic fabric is maintained as possible, with any necessary replacements being in-kind; 4) Following National Park Service standards for historic properties throughout the assessment process. The contractor must provide all qualified personnel, supervision, supplies, materials, equipment, tools, and transportation necessary to complete these tasks in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW).
