Summary (Newest Update)

Background The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to identify interested and qualified offerors capable of providing engineering services for the design, construction, and integration of the Advanced Radiation Environment Simulator (ARES) at Hill Air Force Base's Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) in Ogden, Utah. This initiative is led by the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) to support Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon systems. The ARES aims to address a test capability shortfall for the Sentinel ICBM program and enhance nuclear hardness testing capabilities. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for engineering, design integration, manufacturing, installation, and qualification testing services for the ARES. Key tasks include: 1. Designing and building components using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment with open architecture. 2. Developing Vendor Item Control Drawings (VICDs) as required. 3. Ensuring compliance with corrosion prevention standards and documenting finish specifications. 4. Creating qualification and functional test plans in accordance with military standards. 5. Providing all necessary personnel, materials, services, and documentation for successful project completion including high voltage ramp-up testing. 6. Managing an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) that includes systems engineering processes such as Technical Reviews and Risk Assessments. 7. Delivering all required software code, design details, models algorithms, etc., to enable government reproduction if necessary. 8. Conducting cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with Department of Defense standards. Place of Performance Hill Air Force Base Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF), Ogden, Utah.
