This is a pre-solicitation notice for the purchase of various types of Purina Pro Plan dog food, including standard maintenance diets and veterinary-prescribed therapeutic diets manufactured by Nestle Purina Petcare Co. in support of the DoD Military Working Dog (MWD) program at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Lackland, TX. The Department of Defense (DoD) MWD Program is required to follow all policies stipulated in Army Regulation (AR) 40-905, Veterinary Health Services. Section 5-5a.(2) of this regulation specifies that the U.S. Army Veterinary Service and the Director, DoD MWD Veterinary Service (DODMWDVS) shall determine the standard diet for the MWD Program. Hill's Science Diet has been identified as the only dog food meeting all the dietary standards required.
