Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southwest (NAVFAC SW) is responsible for overseeing construction projects related to waterfront facilities. The goal of this contract is to extend the existing Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) for new construction, repair, and renovation of waterfront facilities. This extension is justified due to the limited number of responsible sources available. Work Details The Waterfront Facilities IV MACC will be utilized for task orders involving new construction, repair, and renovation of waterfront structures and dredging at various locations primarily within the NAVFAC SW Area of Responsibility (AOR), which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. Projects will primarily follow a design-build (DB) approach or secondarily a design-bid-build (DBB) approach. Specific tasks include: piers, wharves, quay walls, magnetic silencing facilities, bulkheads, sea walls, dry docks, boat ramps, docks and marinas, shore protection systems, rip rap, breakwaters, wave attenuation structures, mooring dolphins, buoys, primary and secondary fendering systems, pile driving operations including sheet piles and camels. The work also encompasses the design and construction of utilities for marine operations related to waterfront structures both in and above water. This includes compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory/environmental requirements to support Navy vessels and port operations. Major project activities involve dredging and disposal operations, demolition work, marine pile driving tasks, fender system replacements, marine concrete repairs as well as pier utilities repair/replacement and smaller marine construction projects like boat ramps. Place of Performance The projects will be performed at various government installations primarily within the NAVFAC SW Area of Responsibility including California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.
