Background

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) seeks to procure services for the unplanned drydock of the Coast Guard Cutter (CGC) ADELIE following the unexpected loss of its starboard propeller. This contract aims to restore the cutter to fully mission capable status, ensuring operational readiness and safety for its crew. Work Details: The services required include: 1. Dry docking CGC ADELIE to renew the starboard shaft and starboard propeller. 2. Inspecting the starboard side propulsion shaft bearings for damage resulting from the loss of the starboard propeller. The urgency of these repairs is underscored by a critical casualty that occurred on November 30th, which rendered the vessel unsafe for transit and unable to perform its mission. Immediate repairs are necessary to prevent further mission impact and ensure safety. Place of Performance: The work will be performed at Platypus Marine, Inc., located two nautical miles from CGC ADELIE's homeport in Port Angeles.
