Henderson County Schools Bus Garage Project

Henderson County is seeking qualifications for a Construction Manager at Risk for the Henderson County Schools Bus Garage Project. All bids must be sealed, with six hard copies submitted either in person or by mail. Envelopes should be clearly marked: CMR Qualifications for Henderson County Schools Bus Garage Project. Please note that email or facsimile copies will not be accepted. The project will be located on the Henderson County Public Schools Maintenance Facility Campus in Flat Rock, NC. Interested Construction Managers are required to submit their qualifications by 2:00 PM on January 28, 2026, to the offices of Henderson County Project Management at 100 North King Street, Project Management, Hendersonville, NC 28792. The project entails the new construction of an approximately 10,000 sq ft Bus Garage, including all necessary components such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, detention equipment, electronic security, AV equipment, data, courtroom technology, and both interior and exterior finishes. The Construction Manager will also be responsible for programming with Henderson County to provide cost estimates and schedules for project approval. Additionally, they will handle Pre-Construction and Bid Administration for the bidding process and awarding of trades to ensure project success. Although the exact cost is yet to be determined, the estimated construction cost is around 10 million dollars. Proposals must comply with North Carolina law and Henderson County policy, including e-verification and other requirements. The Construction Manager-at-Risk Selection Procedures adopted by the North Carolina State Building Commission will be used in this process. Henderson County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to make the award in the best interest of the County.
