Background The County of Lexington, South Carolina, is seeking proposals for On-Call Institutional Glass Replacement Services specifically for the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary glass replacement services to enhance security and functionality within the department. The initial contract period is set for two years, with an option to extend for three additional one-year periods if it serves the best interest of the County. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for various tasks including: - Removal of old security glass; - Installation of new security glass; - Removal of old non-security glass; - Installation of new non-security glass. Additionally, vendors must have access to specialized attack-resistant glass-clad polycarbonate laminates that meet resistance level ratings for various durations (10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes) and adhere to ASTM F-1915 and/or LPS 1270 standards. The thickness of the security glass must be sufficient to provide the required resistance levels as dictated by individual circumstances. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon award and is intended to last for an initial period of two years, with options for three additional one-year extensions based on performance and mutual agreement. Place of Performance Services will be performed at locations designated by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department within Lexington County, South Carolina. Bidder Requirements Bidders must possess all necessary licenses required to perform the tasks outlined in this RFPQ. They must also comply with all federal and state laws regarding fair employment practices. Additionally, contractors are required to provide proof of insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation documents, including general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
