Background The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) is seeking bids from qualified offerors to obtain a Freefly Astro Max drone. This drone will be utilized by SCDES’s Waste Assessment Section to aid in disaster debris management related to hurricane response. The acquisition is part of the funding secured through the 2025 American Relief Act. Work Details The contract involves the procurement of one (1) Freefly Astro Max drone along with various components and accessories necessary for its operation. The detailed specifications include: 1. One (1) Astro Blue Drone with landing gear, props, and smart dovetail. 2. One (1) Hex Drivers set including 1.5mm, 2mm, and 2.5mm sizes. 3. Four (4) Proptectors and one (1) spare proptector. 4. Four (4) spare isolators and two (2) rubber hole grommets. 5. One (1) Pilot Pro Controller equipped with a Samsung Active Tab, Doodle Labs RF 2.4 GHz radio, and a customer padded neck strap. 6. One (1) Freefly LR1 Payload which includes a Freefly Mapping Gimbal, Sony ILX-LR1 Camera, Sigma 24mm f3.5 Mapping Lens, and USB-C Thumb Drive. 7. One (1) Astro LR1 Thermal Upgrade with specifications of 640x512 Radiometric 13.6mm 40mK. 8. One (1) Astro LR1 Laser Range Finder Upgrade including necessary sensor modules and mounting screws. 9. Sentera Astro Assembly Legs and Astro Max Isolator Mounts included in the package along with two (2) Isolator Cartridge Astro Max (50A). 10. Six (6) FreeFly Astro SL8-Air Batteries along with one (1) Colorado Drone Chargers Freefly SL8 PRCS and one (1) SL8 Travel Case. Period of Performance The contract performance period is expected to commence upon award notification on or around February 18, 2026. Place of Performance The delivery location for the drone and its components will be specified by the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services in Columbia, SC. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a state vendor number to be eligible to submit an offer as per the Vendor Registration Mandatory clause.
