Background The County of Orange, New York, through its Department of General Services, is seeking to engage qualified vendors to provide Single Stream Recycling (SSR) services for its Transfer Stations. The goal of this contract is to facilitate the efficient transportation and processing of recyclable materials collected at the county's transfer stations, thereby supporting environmental sustainability and waste management efforts. Work Details The contract consists of two lots: - **Lot 1**: Involves hauling services for SSR from Orange County Transfer Station No. 1 (OCTS #1) located at 21 Training Center Lane, New Hampton, NY, to a designated Recyclables Handling and Recovery Facility. It also includes processing services for the SSR once it has been transported. - **Lot 2**: Focuses solely on processing services for SSR from OCTS #1 to a Recyclables Handling and Recovery Facility. Vendors must provide a fleet of 110 cubic yard (minimum) open top trailers for transporting SSR and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste management. The vendor will also be responsible for maintaining equipment in good working order and ensuring timely removal of loaded trailers within twenty-four hours of notification. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon execution and will continue for a period specified in the final agreement, with options for renewal as outlined in the terms. Place of Performance Services will be performed at Orange County Transfer Station No. 1 (OCTS #1), located at 21 Training Center Lane, New Hampton, NY 10958, as well as at designated Recyclables Handling and Recovery Facilities specified by the vendor. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a minimum of three years of experience providing similar services. They must possess all necessary permits and licenses required by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for waste transporters. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to submit proposals that include Minority- or Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) participation.
