This Call for Solution is issued under the Army Open Solicitation W9128Z-25-S-A002. The Army Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal, on behalf of the office of the US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), is seeking innovative solutions for Advanced Manufacturing Vacuum Furnace Post Processing Capability. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) have a need for accelerated modernization of weapon systems through Advanced Manufacturing (AdvM) technologies that directly address supply chain challenges to underpin readiness. In Accordance With (IAW) Army Regulation (AR) 750-1 (Army Materiel Maintenance Policy), Commanders, U.S. Army Organic Industrial Base (OIB) activities will develop additive and advanced capabilities consistent with Army Materiel Command (AMC) guidance to produce Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) quality parts for use to meet obsolescence and other readiness requirements as required. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) require immediate integration of one (1) vacuum furnace for heat treat capacity specific to AdvM capability at Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) to address critical readiness gaps in aviation maintenance operations. The integration of AdvM technology will enable CCAD to rapidly fabricate qualified parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, and ground support equipment. The Call for Solutions document outlining the full problem statement, required solution attributes, submission requirements, and evaluation phases can be found in the "Attachments" section below. The deadline to submit questions for Phase 1 is Wednesday June 24th, 2026, at 12:00 PM Central Daylight Time (CDT). Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal, on behalf of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), is seeking innovative solutions for Advanced Manufacturing Vacuum Furnace Post Processing Capability. The U.S. Army recognizes the need for accelerated modernization of weapon systems through Advanced Manufacturing (AdvM) technologies to address supply chain challenges and enhance readiness. This Call for Solution aims to expand vacuum furnace heat treat capacity for post-processing requirements at Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), Texas, to meet obsolescence and readiness requirements. Work Details The U.S. Army AMCOM requires immediate integration of one vacuum furnace for heat treat capacity specific to AdvM capability at CCAD. The solution must include shipping costs, onsite installation, heavy equipment handling, ancillary equipment, operating software, warranties, preventative maintenance, and on-demand technical support. Key specifications include: - Maximum Load Dimensions: 36” x 36” x 48” (914 mm x 914 mm x 1219 mm) - Maximum Weight Capacity: 3,000 lb (1,361 kg) - Operating Temperature: 900 °F – 2400 °F (482 °C – 1,316 °C) - Quench Pressure: Up to 12 bar - Features: Internal quenching with 360-degree cooling uniformity; quarter-twist graphite or molybdenum heating element support hangers; flare-locking rim for molybdenum cooling gas nozzles; nozzle system capable of providing uniform quench with convection option. Solutions must be produced in the continental United States and include ancillary equipment such as a water cooling system and inert gas backfill reservoir. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the product will be delivered to or performed at. Place of Performance Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD), Corpus Christi, Texas. Bidder Requirements Offerors must possess a Unique Entity ID (UEI) and be registered prior to award. They must also accurately represent their small business size and status as required, be determined responsible by the Contracting/Agreements Officer, not be suspended or debarred from receiving an award, disclose any actual or potential Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCIs), and ensure that all offered solutions are produced in the continental United States. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a closely related prior contract history for vacuum furnace post-processing support at the Army’s depot environment, with Seco/Warwick Corporation awarded W912NW25P0038 (Upgrade) valued at $101,585 (03/24/25–09/30/25) and Seco Vacuum Technologies awarded W912NW22P0004 (Annual Maintenance for Government Owned Vacuum Furnace) valued at $66,000 (09/23/22–09/22/25). The prior work is described as vacuum furnace upgrades and ongoing maintenance of government-owned equipment, which aligns with the current need to integrate and support vacuum furnace heat treat capability (including ancillary systems and operating support) at Corpus Christi Army Depot.
