Fuel Tank Relocation

Background

The University of Kentucky is issuing a solicitation for the Early Sequence Package 3.0: Fuel Tank Relocation Re-Bid as part of the Chandler Expansion project. The Chandler Expansion aims to construct a 2.08 million square foot facility with 895 beds, focusing on enhancing patient care services. This project will include various clinical support services such as inpatient rooms, operating rooms, and diagnostic services.

Work Details

The scope of work under this contract includes the addition of two new fuel tanks adjacent to the existing heating and cooling plant. It also involves the installation of underground piping to connect the new system to the existing infrastructure. The existing fuel tanks will remain in place and will be removed under a different scope package. The specific trade category available for bidding is ESP-3.0 BP #023.01R1 – Fuel Tank Work Complete (Re-Bid).

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence upon award and will follow the project schedule outlined by the Construction Manager. Substantial completion is defined in Article 1 of the General Conditions.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the University of Kentucky Healthcare Chandler Expansion site located in Lexington, Kentucky.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a completed Notice of Intent to Bid form to gain access to bid documents via SmartBid. All bids must include a bid guarantee of at least 5% of the base bid amount, along with a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond from the successful bidder. Subcontractors are required to include their own insurance and applicable taxes in their bids.
