FY27 SL St. Charles Maintenance, Mechanics, & Truck Wash Building Project

Background

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a qualified contractor to construct a pre-engineered metal structure as part of the FY27 St. Charles Maintenance, Mechanics, & Truck Wash Building Project. The project aims to enhance the operational capabilities of MoDOT by providing necessary facilities for maintenance and vehicle washing.

Work Details

The contractor will construct a 170-foot wide by 55-foot deep building with an eave height of 18 feet and 5 inches. The structure will be pre-engineered and include insulation. The scope of work includes site preparation, excavation, backfilling, compacting, concrete work, metal fabrication, installation of thermal and moisture protection systems, doors and windows, finishes, specialties, mechanical systems including plumbing and HVAC, electrical work, and quality control measures as detailed in the specifications. Specific tasks include: - Site preparation including grading and seeding. - Excavation for foundations and utilities. - Concrete formwork and finishing. - Installation of structural steel components. - Installation of insulation and weather barriers. - Installation of doors, windows, and hardware. - Mechanical systems installation including plumbing fixtures and HVAC systems. - Electrical work including lighting fixtures and wiring.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence upon award with a specified duration that will be outlined in the final agreement. The project timeline will be detailed in the construction schedule submitted by the contractor.

Place of Performance

The construction will take place at the designated site in St. Charles County, Missouri.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all state regulations regarding construction projects. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 24, 2026. Bidders are required to submit their bids electronically through MissouriBUYS or via mail/UPS/FEDEX. It is also necessary to contact the buyer of record five business days before bid closing if submitting a hard copy bid.
