Background The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is issuing this solicitation for the conversion of existing fuel oil furnaces to electric furnaces in Government Quarters #63 and #17 located at the Standing Rock Agency in Fort Yates, North Dakota. The goal of this contract is to improve heating efficiency and comply with modern energy standards. This project is part of the BIA's ongoing efforts to enhance living conditions in government housing. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and incidentals necessary to remove and convert existing fuel oil furnaces to electric furnaces. Specific tasks include: 1. **Removal of Existing Equipment**: - Disconnect, remove, and properly dispose of the existing fuel oil furnace and associated components. - Cap or secure all utilities as necessary during removal operations. 2. **Furnish New Equipment**: - Complete a load calculation to determine the size of furnace(s) needed: - House #17 (2,068 sq ft): Approximately 3-ton unit, 40 BTU, 1,200 CFM. - House #63 (1,396 sq ft): Approximately 2.5-ton unit, 40 BTU, 1,000 CFM. - Furnish one new electric furnace for each house that is compatible with existing systems. 3. **Installation**: - Install the new electric furnace including sheet metal work for duct integration and electrical connections. - Modify ductwork or wiring as required for proper operation and code compliance. 4. **Electrical and Mechanical Work**: - Provide all electrical connections required for a complete installation including thermostat installation. 5. **Startup and Testing**: - Start up the system and test all operating modes to ensure proper performance.
