Background

The Bartow County School System (BCSS) is seeking competitive sealed proposals from qualified contractors for Building Commissioning Services related to the renovation of the College and Career Academy located in Cartersville, GA. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the renovation project meets the necessary standards for functionality and efficiency, aligning with BCSS's mission to provide quality educational facilities.

Work Details

The contractor will provide Building Commissioning Services for the renovation of the College and Career Academy, which includes: 1. Renovation of the lower level of the CCA building on each side of the gymnasium and e-sports auditorium to create a Central Registration Office (CRO). 2. Renovation of the existing football fieldhouse for Transitional Academy (TA) classroom spaces. 3. Construction of a new facilities office shop between the football and baseball fields. 4. Site modifications for bus drop-off and pickup for TA students, as well as visitor parking for the CRO office. 5. Site construction including grading, paving, curb and gutter installation, storm drainage systems, soil erosion control with detention pond systems, grassing, sodding, and landscaping. 6. Modifications to building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to enhance energy optimization and performance monitoring.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that aligns with the overall renovation schedule outlined in the proposal documents.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the College and Career Academy located at 738 Grassdale Rd NW, Cartersville, GA 30121.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must meet specific qualifications including: - Sufficient bonding capacity for anticipated total costs between $30 million - $36 million. - Current Contractor’s Public Liability Insurance policy with specified coverage limits. - Valid Georgia General Contractor’s License. - Demonstrated cash flow capability evidenced by a current ratio of 1.0 or higher. - Commitment to safety with an Experience Modification Rating (EMR) of 1.2 or less.
