The Hanover County Fire-EMS Department is seeking to establish a term contract for the inspection, preventive maintenance, filter replacement, and repair of potable water filtration systems at six locations. The goal is to ensure safe drinking water and maintain the performance and reliability of well water treatment systems. The department consists of over 300 dedicated career and volunteer members who provide emergency services to protect the lives of citizens and visitors.
The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials necessary for the following services: 1. Locations Covered: Services will be provided at six locations including Beaverdam Station 2, Eastern Hanover Station 3, Montpelier Station 8, Farrington Station 11, West Hanover Station 15, and Black Creek Station 12. 2. System Inspection: Inspect all components of well water filtration systems including sediment pre-filters, carbon filters, iron and manganese removal systems (if present), UV disinfection systems (if present), filter housings and cartridges, valves, fittings, connections, pressure tanks. Check for leaks, corrosion, sediment buildup, reduced flow or pressure. 3. Preventive Maintenance: Replace filters as needed per manufacturer recommendations; clean and sanitize filter housings; inspect UV disinfection units; verify proper pressure and flow. 4. Filter Replacement: Provide and install replacement filters; dispose of used filters properly; recommend replacement schedules based on conditions. 5. Repair Services: Identify malfunctioning components; provide written recommendations; perform repairs upon approval. 6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor for common issues like sediment buildup and notify the County of deficiencies affecting water quality. 7. Emergency Services: Provide emergency response within 12 hours of notification.
The contract period is one year after the date of award with options for renewal.
Services will be performed at various locations in Hanover County, Virginia.
Bidders must have at least two years of experience related to the services required. They must comply with all applicable local, state, federal regulations including obtaining necessary licenses and permits. Bidders must also maintain insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation.
