Construction Inspection & Management Services

Background

The City of Allentown is soliciting proposals for Construction Management, Inspection, and Documentation services for two projects: the School Zone Improvement Project and the 10th & Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Pedestrian Improvement Project. These projects aim to enhance safety at twenty-six school zone locations and improve pedestrian access at a key intersection. They are funded through the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Grant Program and the Carbon Reduction Program.

Work Details

The contractor will provide comprehensive construction management services, including inspection and documentation for both projects. Specific tasks include overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining project documentation, conducting inspections at various stages of construction, and coordinating with city officials and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with local tax requirements by obtaining a business tax license prior to contract award. Contractors are encouraged to engage Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) in their proposals, with minimum participation levels set at 5% for MBEs and 3% for WBEs. Proposals must be submitted electronically through PennBid; no faxed or emailed proposals will be accepted.
