Summary: Background The Environmental Management Service at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System is seeking a service contract for the removal of cardboard, co-mingled paper, and solid waste at its East Orange and Lyons Campuses. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations while providing efficient waste management services to support the healthcare system's operations. Work Details The contractor will provide labor, materials, and equipment for the collection and disposal of cardboard and co-mingled paper as well as solid waste. Specific tasks include: - Providing two 30 cubic yard self-contained compactor containers, one 35 cubic yard self-contained compactor container, and one 8-yard container at designated locations at the Lyons Campus. - Providing one 30 cubic yard self-contained compactor container at a designated location at the East Orange Campus. - Emptying containers according to a specified schedule: - East Orange Building #1: 30 yd. compactor, 2 times per week. - Lyons Building #2: 35 yd. compactor, biweekly. - Additional pickups for various buildings at both campuses as detailed in the SOW. - Ensuring all containers are marked for recycling use only and adhering to safety and documentation requirements including providing Material Safety Data Sheets for cleaning agents used. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the contract will be performed (if provided). Place of Performance VA New Jersey Healthcare System East Orange Campus (385 Tremont Avenue, East Orange, NJ) and Lyons Campus (151 Knollcroft Road, Lyons, NJ). Bidder Requirements Bidders must be Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSBC) certified. Additionally, contractors must possess all necessary permits and licenses required by NJDEP including an A-901 Solid Waste Transporter License and a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN). Key personnel must have relevant experience in solid waste management within healthcare settings.
