Background

The City of Oakland Public Works Department is seeking proposals from professional consultants to assist in designing a future solid waste franchise system framework. The focus of this initiative is on ensuring rate affordability and transparency, reducing illegal dumping, and complying with state diversion mandates. The goal is to develop a comprehensive system that effectively manages solid waste services for the community.

Work Details

The selected firm(s) will provide consulting services over a five (5) year term, which includes: 1. Supporting the development and issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the collection, processing, and transfer of residential and commercial trash, compost, recycling, and bulky waste services. 2. Co-leading proposal evaluations, negotiations, and finalization of contracts related to these services.

Period of Performance

Five (5) years from the date of contract award.
