Professional Planning and Technical Services Consultant for Safe Streets and Roads

Background

The Township of West Orange is seeking professional planning and technical support services for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) initiative. This project aims to enhance road safety and accessibility, funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The total funding for this initiative is $450,000, which requires a 25% match from the Township amounting to $112,500. The contract is intended to be awarded in 2026 for completion by August 2029.

Work Details

The contractor will provide professional planning and technical support services that include but are not limited to: conducting studies related to road safety, developing supplemental planning documents, and ensuring compliance with federal guidelines associated with the SS4A grant program. The contractor must demonstrate experience in similar projects, particularly within Essex County, and provide a detailed technical methodology for completing the required work.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon award in 2026 and will extend until August 2029.
