Background

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Office for Food and Nutrition Programs is seeking a contractor to increase the number of afterschool programs providing At-Risk Afterschool meals and snacks under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The goal of this contract is to design, implement, and coordinate an innovative outreach program to enhance participation in CACFP.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following services: 1. Design an outreach program aimed at increasing participation in CACFP for afterschool programs. 2. Implement the outreach strategies effectively across targeted communities. 3. Coordinate activities that promote awareness of CACFP benefits among potential participants. 4. Develop marketing and educational materials to support outreach efforts. 5. Provide monthly reports logging outreach activities and annual report data to measure effectiveness.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon approval and will run until June 30, 2027, with an option for one renewal period of up to 12 months, extending potentially until June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed primarily in Massachusetts, targeting public schools and districts as well as community organizations involved in the CACFP.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing child nutrition outreach initiatives, familiarity with USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations, and experience working directly with public schools and community organizations. Additionally, any bidder responding to this RFR valued over $250,000 annually must submit a Supplier Diversity Program Plan.
