Located in Bethesda, MD, on the grounds of Naval Support Activity Bethesda, USU aims to offer high-quality education programs in health sciences to individuals committed to careers in the Uniformed Services. The intended recipient of this contract is Sun Nuclear Corp., located at 3275 Suntree Blvd, Melbourne, Florida 32940-7514. Work Details USU intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Sun Nuclear for the Sun Nuclear SunSCAN 3D System. This system includes associated software and installation services. The SunSCAN 3D System is uniquely qualified due to its automated setup process that ensures precise physical positioning of a 3D scanning water phantom, which is critical and often time-consuming. Sun Nuclear is currently the only manufacturer that automates this procedure by using ion chamber measurements to verify center alignment, level scanning arms, and minimize measurement hysteresis.
