Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) has an urgent requirement to procure a secure and reliable domestic supply of high-performance Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) rare earth magnets. These magnets are essential components in the Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors that power the Army's small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). Establishing a domestic source is necessary to mitigate critical supply chain vulnerabilities. The Army Contracting Command (ACC), APG, Tobyhanna Division intends to award Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (MA-IDIQ) contracts to qualified offerors to support this requirement. Work Details The contractor shall manufacture and deliver Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) rare earth magnets in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) and attached drawings. The specifications for the magnets include: - Material Type: Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) - Grade: N42S - Coating: Nickel-plated - Magnetization: Radially magnetized arc segments, intended for assembly into BLDC motors. The entire manufacturing process must be fully domestic, from raw material processing to final magnet finishing and coating, all performed within the United States. The contract will have a maximum value of $1,200,000 over five years with delivery orders ranging from $218 to $350,000. Period of Performance Five years from contract award. Place of Performance Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna, PA. Bidder Requirements To receive an award, offerors must have an active registration with no active exclusions and no debt subject to offset.
