Milling & Resurfacing of E. Prairie Street & Illini Court

Background

The City of Litchfield, Illinois is soliciting sealed bids for the milling and resurfacing of E. Prairie Street and Illini Court. This project aims to improve the existing asphalt pavement to enhance road safety and usability.

Work Details

The project consists of milling the existing asphalt pavement, cleaning the milled surface, and placing a new asphalt surface course over an area of approximately 4,805 square yards. The work includes: A. Milling: Mill the entire project area to a depth of 1.5 inches, remove all loose material, and clean the milled surface. The City will provide haul trucks for removal of millings and retain ownership of all reclaimed asphalt millings (RAP). B. Surface Preparation: Sweep and clean all milled surfaces immediately after milling operations, ensuring suitability for new asphalt placement. Apply tack coat per IDOT requirements prior to paving. C. Asphalt Resurfacing: Furnish and place a 1.5-inch compacted asphalt surface course using N-50 mix that meets current IDOT specifications, ensuring a smooth and uniform surface free from defects. All joints must be properly constructed and sealed. D. Traffic Control: Provide necessary traffic control measures including signage, barricades, flaggers, and safety devices in compliance with ILMUTCD regulations while maintaining access to residences and businesses whenever possible.

Period of Performance

All work under this contract shall be substantially completed within forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of contract award.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed on E. Prairie Street and Illini Court in Litchfield, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements

The successful bidder must provide certificates of insurance meeting City requirements prior to commencement of work, listing the City as additional insured.
