IndyGo On-Call Vehicle Destruction Services Project

Background

The Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IPTC), operating as IndyGo, is a municipal corporation established under the Indiana Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1965. IPTC provides public transportation in Marion County and is funded through federal assistance, state funds, and local revenue. The agency aims to ensure efficient public transit services while promoting opportunities for minority, women, veteran, and disability-owned businesses.

Work Details

IPTC is seeking quotes for on-call vehicle destruction services, which include towing all vehicles from IPTC’s garage at 1501 W. Washington Street. The estimated quantities for destruction during the contract term are: - 10-20 fixed route buses (40 ft or 60 ft) - 10-13 paratransit buses (35 ft) - 4-5 non-revenue vehicles (sedan, SUV, or truck). The selected vendor will be responsible for picking up vehicles within 48 hours of notification and must complete destruction within 30 days of pickup. Required documentation includes a certificate of destruction with vehicle details, before and after photos, payment receipts, and a copy of the check. IPTC will prepare vehicles by removing branding/decals and draining fluids prior to pickup.

Period of Performance

The contract duration is one year with an option for an additional year at IPTC's discretion.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at IPTC’s garage located at 1501 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must comply with insurance requirements including worker's compensation and general liability coverage. They must also demonstrate qualifications and experience in providing similar services. Additionally, vendors are required to document efforts towards Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation as outlined in the solicitation.
