Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to contract for Satellite TV programming content for the Palo Alto and Menlo Park Divisions of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). This requirement is part of a non-Personal Services Contract aimed at providing essential television programming to enhance patient experience and services within the healthcare system. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing TV programming from DirecTV satellites and local channels to 911 televisions across the Palo Alto and Menlo Park Divisions. Specific tasks include: 1. Establishing and maintaining all accounts with DirecTV. 2. Providing, installing, upgrading, and maintaining equipment at the head-end, which includes: - Equipment rack - QAM Modulators - Satellite Dish - Laptop for remote monitoring - Test TV monitor - 30dB Launch Amp - COM3000 Receiver blade 3. Delivering programming on specified channels via existing satellite dish and receivers compatible with DirecTV, including channels from the Entertainment Package, Fox Sports 2, NFL Network, MLB Network, and Regional Sports Networks. The contractor must ensure that all listed channels are available for distribution to 486 outlets in Palo Alto and 298 outlets in Menlo Park. The pricing model will be based on a fixed rate per connected TV set per month, with adjustments made as TV sets are added or removed from the distribution system.
