Background The contract is issued by the Ft. Eisenhower Religious Support Office to provide Catholic Priest services in support of military religious and worship activities. This initiative aligns with the mission of the Department of Defense (DoD) to ensure the free exercise of religion for its personnel, as mandated under Title 10, USC. Due to a shortage of Catholic priests serving as chaplains in the US Army, this contract allows for qualified Catholic priests to be contracted when assigned personnel are unavailable, following Army Regulations AR 165-1. Work Details The contractor will provide part-time Catholic Priest services, which include: conducting masses, providing opportunities for confession, offering pastoral care with sacraments, and delivering emergency ministry as needed. Specific tasks include planning worship services, preparing homilies, coordinating with the Parish Coordinator and Chaplain Assistants, ensuring availability of supplies for sacraments, and responding to emergency ministry requests through the senior Catholic chaplain or Parish Coordinator. The contractor is responsible for submitting monthly invoices for services rendered. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the contract will be performed (if provided) Place of Performance Services will be performed at Fort Gordon and potentially other locations as specified by the Religious Support Office.
