Summary: Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Veterans Health Administration, is seeking a contractor to perform fuel tank removal and cleaning services at the Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe removal of fuel oil from an out-of-service above-ground storage tank (AST) and to prepare the tank for permanent out-of-service status in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, and disposal services necessary to: 1. Remove the remaining #2 fuel oil from an out-of-service above-ground storage tank (AST) at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. 2. Clean and decontaminate the tank interior. 3. Render the tank vapor-free at the time of testing and place it in a safe condition for permanent out-of-service status. 4. Safeguard the tank against tampering or unauthorized reuse. 5. Provide documentation of final tank condition and waste disposition. Physical removal of the tank is not required. The contractor must also adhere to various applicable standards including NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, EPA standards, DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations, and Georgia EPD requirements. Period of Performance The period of performance shall begin upon contract award and shall not exceed 30 calendar days, with on-site work expected to be completed in one to two workdays.
