THE PURPOSE OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS TO REPAIR BY REPLACEMENT THE 3RD STORY ROOF OF THE U.S. ARMY GARRISON RFTA BUILDING 668. THE EXISTING 3RD STORY ROOF OF BUILDING 668 CONSISTS OF EXISTING ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFING WITH UNKNOWN UNDERLAYMENT SUPPORTED BY A LOW-PITCH PLYWOOD DECK SHEETING. THE BUILT-UP ROOFING IS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH AN ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOF. EXISTING LIGHTNING PROTECTION IS TO BE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED UPON COMPLETION OF THE NEW ROOFING SYSTEM. Summary: Background The Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ) is issuing this solicitation on behalf of the United States Army Garrison (USAG) Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA). The purpose of this contract is to replace the existing asphalt shingle roof on the third story of Building 668, located at 31 10th Mountain Division Road, Devens, MA. This project aims to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of the building's roofing system. Work Details The contractor is required to provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and services to fully remove and replace the existing asphalt shingle roofing system. Specific tasks include: 1. Removal of the existing asphalt shingle roof and any underlying materials; 2. Installation of a new asphalt shingle roofing system; 3. Removal and reinstallation of existing lightning protection systems upon completion of the new roofing installation. All work must comply with local, state, and federal regulations as well as the standards outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
